Destination Sport Experiences celebrate one year in business

Active travel specialists Destination Sport Experiences report their first year of business successes – with an expanding portfolio of events, their team growing four-fold and turnover exceeding all projections.

Founded in October 2021, Destination Sports Experiences is headed up by Managing Director Brendan Fox, who has over 20-years’ experience in the active travel industry. Sitting under the well renowned Portman Travel Group, the expert team offer travel packages for those looking to participate in the most prestigious and adventurous events around the world, alongside VIP and hospitality experiences. Their range provides guaranteed event entry with all logistics covered, including on-hand assistance from team members and hotels in premium locations.

The experience and connections of Brendan and his team has been a huge driver in their success, and Brendan is delighted to be able to look back over the first 12 months in business.

Brendan said: “Reflecting back on the last twelve months, I feel an immense sense of pride and gratitude. Every single member of our Destination Sport Experiences team has contributed towards our successes, allowing us to drive the brand forward beyond all expectations.

“Our team’s decades of experience, knowledge, and indeed passion for the industry is unrivalled, and have enabled us to become a market leader in the space of only twelve short months. That really is something quite special!”

Destination Sport Experiences first year in business has seen much progress and many developments. Originally a team of six, their workforce has now quadrupled in size, with the core team working from a bustling Manchester office and continuing to seek new like-minded team members.  The team have also opened offices in the US and Australia, with cycling travel brand Sportive Breaks and world leading running brand Marathon Tours & Travel joining the family.

With Marathon Tours & Travel, the expanded Destination Sport Experiences group continues to serve members of the Seven Continents Club, for adventurous runners looking to complete a marathon on each of the seven continents worldwide. The expansion with Sportive Breaks means Destination Sport Experiences customers have access to the official fan and amateur participant travel provider for the upcoming 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland.

The global portfolio of events now sees customers traveling to exotic locations such as Antarctica and the Great Wall of China, and Destination Sport Experiences value their tight-knit relationships with event organisers worldwide. In the last few weeks alone, the team has taken thousands of happy customers to all parts of the globe – including Australia, South Africa, North America, Europe and Patagonia. This continued growth sees Destination Sport Experiences on track to reach double-digit million figures for turnover in 2023.

Brendan added: “There’s so many exciting things happening next year, with a host of new updates to our event portfolio. 2023 sees a line-up of events and trips like no other, with packages available for the Spring Classics, 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships and the Brighton Marathon Festival amongst others. We’re excited to be able to move forward with new events and be able to offer even more incredible experiences for our customers.”

Destination Sport Experiences are fully ABTA bonded with an ATOL license, as well as offering protection via their COVID-19 guarantee.
