HOKA has been announced as the exclusive running shoe partner of the Cancer Research UK’s London Winter 10K Run – taking place February 5, 2023.
Beginning their three-year partnership, HOKA’s official sponsorship is part of their key city plan which aims to engage local running communities and get consumers to the start line – engaging and inspiring their strong following in the running community.
Since its first edition in 2015, the run has proved hugely popular – with over 100,000 people taking part and raising over 4 million for Cancer Research UK over the years. With 2023 being the first year of HOKA’s sponsorship of the event the brand is hugely excited to team up with such a hardworking charity and is proud to work towards this great cause.
“We’re delighted to have HOKA as a partner of the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run, supporting thousands of runners to achieve their own personal goals whilst raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK. HOKA has been a natural ally to this event, helping participants to push themselves more than they have before. We look forward to continuing to grow together in future years,”said Freya Norrie, Partnerships Director at Human Race.
Mike McManus, Director of Global Sports Marketing, added: “HOKA is thrilled to be announcing our support of the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run. We are committed to encouraging runners of all abilities to join us at the start line of this unforgettable run, through the heart of the capital.”
Following on from last year’s virtual event, this year will show a triumphant return to the city for many runners, who will run around the stunning city taking in all the landmarks from Trafalgar Square towards Westminster bridge with a whole host of live music, bands and DJs along the route. Runners can also anticipate a whole host of HOKA-goodness for the run, including the brand offering participants the chance to win free trainers through an online ‘spin the wheel’ activity.
In addition, HOKA will be offering top running tips from their award-winning athletes and racers, many of whom will be in attendance such as Jess Warner-Judd, Mhairi MacLennan, and Mark Pearce.
HOKA’s aims to use this incredible event and platform to empower consumers everywhere to take to the start line, raising awareness for the brand amongst the local communities and appealing to a wider audience to educate them about the brand and everything it stands for.
