The Boston Run Show has announced that Michael Johnson, the four-time Olympic Gold medallist, and eight-time World Championship gold medallist, will be headlining as a keynote speaker at The Boston Run Show 2024.
Following its debut in 2022, the Boston Run Show returns to the Boston Hynes Convention Center January 27th – 28th, 2024, bringing a wealth of brands, guest speakers and running inspiration into the city once again.
Michael Johnson is a name synonymous with speed, agility, and athletic excellence and is renowned by many for his outstanding running career. Johnson made his winning debut at the 1992 Olympics and went on to win a further 3 Golds in 1996 and 2000. He is the only male to win both the 200 and 400 meters at the same Olympics in 1996 and go on to defend his Olympic title for the 400 meters in 2000. Johnson’s remarkable achievements have made him a living legend in the world of track and field. His incredible speed, a distinctive upright running style, enabled him to hold world records in the 200 meters and 400 meters for over a decade. Now, retired, Johnson regularly commentates for the BBC in the United Kingdom and has been a part of the Olympic athletics coverage since 2004.
Johnson will headline the Road & Marathon Stage on Sunday January 28th at 10.30am and will offer 45mins of his time to share highlights from his illustrious career. Visitors will be able to ask questions after his speaking slot and will be able to understand what it takes and how determined Johnson had to be in his pursuit of success. The two stages at the Boston Run Show (The Road & Marathon Stage, and the Trail & Ultra Stage) will include inspirational speakers including Ultrarunner and Barkley marathon legend John Kelly, run streaking icon Hellah Sidibe, runner and comic Laura Green, Boston marathon’s race director Dave McGillivray, Coaches Becca Pizzi and Kelly McLay and many others.
