On welcomes Revée Walcott-Nolan and Mohamed Attaoui

On has announced the addition of 28-year-old British middle-distance runner Revée Walcott-Nolan and 22-year-old middle-distance talent Mohamed Attaoui to its roster of track athletes.

Walcott-Nolan captured the British 1500m title in 2021 and represented Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, further solidifying her status as a top-tier athlete on the global stage, while Attaoui is joining the team after his first two years as a professional athlete.

A leader on and off the track: Revée Walcott-Nolan

Walcott-Nolan, who claims Jamaican, English, and Irish ancestry, was inspired to take up athletics because her grandmother staunchly believed in her granddaughter’s talent. After originally competing for Luton AC and then studying at St Mary’s in Twickenham, she continued to improve as a senior with the highlight of winning the British Championships and punching a last-minute ticket to the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.

“We are super excited to welcome Revée to OAC Europe,” said On Athlete Partnership Manager Niklas Bühner. “Revée already had great results in the past, like winning the national championships and making the Olympics in 2021.”

Her Olympic experience proved to be a pivotal moment for Walcott-Nolan’s career in more than one sense: “In my heat at the Tokyo Olympics, I missed out on advancing to the semi-finals by 0.01s. This race taught me a lot about confidence and positioning in races and that the smallest of errors can be the difference between making it through or not”, the 28-year-old says, looking back.

“Revée is a perfect addition to the women’s side of the team, as she is already an experienced athlete, and we expect her to be a leader on and off the track,” said OAC Europe Head Coach Thomas Dreissigacker. ”She improved quite a bit in the 800m and 1500m last year, and I think with our professional setup, it will be possible for her to take the next steps to reach a world-class level.”

With her sights set on the 2024 Olympic final, Revée’s dedication to her sport remains unwavering. As the next steps, the 28-year-old will join OAC Europe’s training camp in South Africa in January and focus on indoor racing season in Europe.

“It’s exciting to be a part of a brand like On that provides me with innovative and sustainably made products,” she said of her new partnership. “I especially love the pace tank with its print and cropped design and my Cloudboom Echo 3. They are super light and help me to feel fast.”

Taking the next step: Mohamed Attaoui

Spanish middle-distance runner Mohamed Attaoui is a new addition to Team OAC Europe. After two years as a professional runner, the 22-year-old takes the next step in his career and joins the St. Moritz-based squad of head coach Thomas Dreissigacker with Paris 2024 in his sights.

“At only 22 years of age, Mohamed is a really explosive athlete with a big potential for endurance. He brings a lot of energy, and it’s good to finally have an 800m runner on the roster as well,” OAC Europe Head Coach Thomas Dreissigacker said of his latest addition. “I am happy that we could add such a big talent and another candidate for Paris 2024 to the team. To start his Olympic campaign, Moha will do some indoor races in Europe and the U.S. and prepare for the Olympic summer.”

In his still young career, Attaoui had to learn that more than explosive speed is needed to win a race. At the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships, a wrong tactical decision left him locked up and losing the gold medal – a setback the 22-year-old took in stride. He came away with silver and continued to impress at the Athletics World Championships 2023 in Budapest, where he reached the semi-finals and claimed 12th place, setting a new personal 800m best of 1:44.35 in the process.

“We were truly impressed by Mohamed’s great performances this year. Winning the silver medal at the European U23 Championships, following this up with a world-class performance, and almost making the World Championships Final at age 21 was truly remarkable. His performances underline his versatility and huge potential. Mohamed will be a great addition to our men’s roster at OAC Europe,” said Athlete Partnership Manager Niklas Bühner.

“On as a brand is growing and working hard to have the best, most innovative gear. Becoming a part of the On Athletics Club Europe will allow me to train with a group of impressive people. I believe all that will make me grow a lot together with them,” Attaoui said.
