Brazilian ultrarunner Fernanda Maciel has completed a 173km run across Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat, in under 20 hours. The record attempt took place on 28 September 2026. The feat highlights the endurance demands of long-distance running in an exposed high-altitude environment.
