Romanian trail runner Mădălina Florea has retained the 2026 Golden Trail World Series women’s overall title, earning a second consecutive crown after placing second at the season-ending Muju Trail Grand Finale in South Korea.

The SCOTT athlete finished the final in 3:25:46 behind Iceland’s Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir, who won in 3:19:56. Florea’s runner-up performance was enough to secure the overall championship with 1,164 points, ahead of Caroline Kimutai on 1,016 and Ruth Gitonga on 982, according to the official series report.

Consistency delivers the overall title

Florea’s successful title defence followed victories at Québec Mega Trail, Salomon Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail and Sierre-Zinal. She finished second at Ledro Sky Trentino and the Muju Grand Finale.

SCOTT celebrated her consecutive overall titles and highlighted the Supertrac RC 3 trail running shoe worn during her championship-winning season. The company has also shared Florea’s account of rediscovering balance and enjoyment in her running.
