Kerem Yildiz Shares Running Journey and Community Vision Ahead of IRX 2026

Runformance founder and head coach Kerem Yildiz will join the International Running Expo (IRX) 2026 Athlete & Influencer Programme, bringing a story of personal improvement and community-led coaching to Amsterdam.

Yildiz began running as cross-training for cycling. After completing a 1,600km cycle ride from Istanbul to Artvin, he challenged himself to run a marathon. His early 10K time was 98 minutes; through sustained training, he eventually improved that to 35 minutes 50 seconds.

From endurance athlete to running coach

Now leading Runformance, Yildiz combines his experience as a runner with helping others progress. He has completed nearly 40 marathons and believes that consistency and patience are central to long-term improvement.

For Yildiz, running is also a way to connect people. Through IRX he hopes to exchange ideas with athletes, coaches and brands from different countries, while sharing the running culture developed within his community in Türkiye and the Netherlands.

Why running communities matter

Yildiz sees international events as an opportunity to bring together coaches, race organisers, retailers, athletes and brands. Sharing practical experiences, he argues, can strengthen the sport and help local running communities learn from each other.

He is particularly interested in meeting new people and exploring emerging running technology at the show. Away from the expo, South America is high on his wish list for a future running adventure because of its varied landscapes and running cultures.

IRX takes place at RAI Amsterdam on 4–5 November 2026, bringing together the international running industry. Its Athlete & Influencer Programme offers participants opportunities to connect with brands and fellow runners.
