Rudy Project has expanded its Active Lifestyle range with Based, a new sunglasses collection created for everyday wear and shaped by the Italian brand’s performance design heritage.
The model features a distinctive “alien-eye” silhouette, with Rudy Project drawing on more than 40 years of archive designs to reinterpret vintage eyewear shapes through contemporary proportions and details.
Based is offered in eight frame and lens combinations, plus a special edition available exclusively online. Lens options include category 3 RP Optics and Polar 3FX configurations, alongside mirrored and gradient versions.
The frame is made from Rilsan®, a polymer derived from castor oil. Rudy Project says the material helps make the sunglasses durable, lightweight and flexible, with the finished eyewear weighing 31 grams despite its bold proportions.
The lenses use Base 6 geometry, which contributes to the model’s compact shape. The collection is available now.
