On is proud to announce the signing of 24-year-old British mid-distance runner Henry McLuckie to the On Athletics Club (OAC) Europe. Based between St. Moritz, Switzerland, in the summer and South Africa in the winter, McLuckie joins one of the most elite training groups in professional running. He now targets the next level of international competition.
Hailing from the Isle of Wight, McLuckie began his running journey at age 13, balanced alongside a love for football and tennis. However, his trajectory changed dramatically at 17 when he captured the prestigious English Schools’ Cross Country Championship title. Deciding to focus entirely on running, McLuckie quickly proved his world-class potential. Notably, he was highlighted by his bronze medal performance in the 1500m at the 2021 European Athletics U20 Championships. Since then, he has consistently developed into one of the UK’s brightest mid-distance prospects. He has also earned a coveted spot on the British Athletics Olympic Futures Programme.
McLuckie’s signing with OAC Europe comes on the heels of several standout seasons on the track. He has established himself as a fierce competitor on the British national circuit. Indeed, he secured a third-place finish in the 3000m at the 2025 British Indoor Athletics Championships and followed it up with a narrow runner-up finish in 2026. On the global stage, he has demonstrated world-class range and tactical versatility. For example, he notably served as a pacemaker in Boston to help Grant Fisher set a historic 5000m indoor world record.
On his decision to join OAC Europe, McLuckie said: “Seeing how On and the OAC have developed over the past few years, and the time and resources they put into their athletes has been something I wanted to be a part of for a while now. Coach Thomas (Dreissigacker) will tell you I have emailed him on numerous occasions asking for a shot at being on the team, and for that to finally happen is a dream come true. I can’t wait for what’s to come.”

What I loved about them was the same thing I see when Henry races: he is hungry, proactive, and fearless. He has already shown he can break historic records and run with the absolute best in the world. We are thrilled to have him on the team and help him unlock his potential on the world’s tracks.”
At OAC Europe, McLuckie joins a highly competitive roster of 14 elite athletes training under the world-class guidance of Head Coach Thomas Dreißigacker and Assistant Coach Vincent Guyot. He will notably train alongside fellow British standouts and Olympians George Mills and Revee Walcott-Nolan. As a result, he will further strengthen the squad’s formidable mid-distance core.
