Agathe Guillemot, the reigning French 1,500m champion, is the latest significant addition to On’s cadre of elite track athletes.
Hailing from Finistère and representing Haute Bretagne Athlétisme, 24-year-old Agathe Guillemot won a silver medal in the 4 x 400 meters relay at the 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships in Tallinn, showcasing her versatility and team spirit. A Heptathlete in her youth, Guillemot only began to focus on the middle distances in the last two years and can look back on a remarkable improvement since then.
Starting out with a 1500m personal best of 4:45.45 in 2019, she ran her current fastest time of 4:03.26 as a split time of the Monaco Diamond League race that saw Faith Kipyegon break the mile world record in July 2023. Just eight days later, the 24-year-old followed up her achievement by winning the French national title. Giullemot’s selection for the 1500m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in August 2023 further underscores her standing as a top-tier middle-distance runner.
