Free online tool helps athletes calculate their nutrition targets, choose products, build a complete plan and print a practical race-day guide
UK endurance sports nutrition retailer XMiles has launched their Nutrition Calculator 2.0, designed to make planning for a race or training session simpler.
The free tool creates personalised nutrition targets using the athlete’s sport, distance, predicted time and body metrics. It then helps them turn those numbers into a practical plan by choosing the products, quantities and timings they intend to use before, during and after their event.
Plans are saved to the athlete’s account, allowing them to return, make changes and create separate lists for different events or training sessions. Once a plan is ready, the selected products can be added to the basket together and the full plan can be printed as a clear sheet to use when preparing for race day.
The update also brings several areas of performance nutrition into the same guided process. Carbohydrate loading, nitrate loading and bicarbonate use have been simplified, helping athletes understand where each strategy may fit and organise the relevant products and timings alongside the rest of their plan.
Anthony Clark, founder of XMiles, said:
“Sports nutrition advice is everywhere, but turning it into a plan for your own event can still feel complicated. Athletes are often left working across notes, spreadsheets and several product pages to understand what they need and when they need it.
“We wanted to bring that entire process into one place. The new calculator gives you clear targets, lets you choose the products you want to use and produces a plan you can save, shop and print. It is about making good nutrition planning easier to understand and much easier to put into practice.”
The launch follows the introduction of XMiles’ nutrition comparison feature, which enables customers to compare sports nutrition products side by side. From a product page, athletes can add other products and review price, serving information, calories, carbohydrates, sodium, caffeine and protein in one view. The feature also makes it easier to understand value by showing what customers are paying for the nutrition each serving provides.
Together, athletes can compare products to find the best fit for their needs, then use the Nutrition Calculator to build those choices into a complete event plan.
The calculator can be used by runners, cyclists, triathletes and other endurance athletes preparing for anything from a training session or 10K to a marathon, triathlon or ultra. It is free to use with an XMiles account.
