London, 06 October Compex is proud to announce a new partnership with Kilian Jornet, one of the world’s most accomplished endurance athletes, to support the launch of the new Compex Ultimate EMS range. More than a new collaboration, the partnership marks the continuation of a relationship built over nearly two decades of trust, performance, recovery and innovation.
A globally recognised athlete across trail running, ski mountaineering and mountain endurance challenges, Kilian has relied on Compex electrical muscle stimulation technology throughout much of his career. His long-standing experience with Compex, from rehabilitation and muscle activation to recovery and strength conditioning, makes him a natural partner for the next generation of Compex devices.
The new Compex Ultimate brings the brand’s latest generation of EMS technology into a more portable, connected and personalised system, designed to integrate seamlessly into training and recovery routines. Combining wireless stimulation pods, magnetic electrodes and smartphone control through the Compex app, Ultimate gives athletes greater freedom to tailor their EMS sessions to their individual needs.
At the heart of the new system is Compex Muscle Intelligence® (MI) 2.0, which improves the accuracy, speed and responsiveness of muscle scanning and automatic intensity adjustment. The technology is designed to make EMS sessions more intuitive, with programmes spanning strength and conditioning, endurance, toning, recovery and massage, as well as pain relief.
The fully app-driven system also gives users access to personalised goals and structured training plans, with guidance on electrode placement, intensity and session reminders. Goals can include marathon preparation, strength improvement and recovery.
For athletes constantly moving between training, competition and travel, the wireless design offers cable-free use and greater freedom of movement, while the magnetic docking station provides a simple charging solution. Ultimate offers up to five hours of battery life, with a 15-minute fast charge providing enough power for a recovery session.
As part of the partnership, Kilian will work closely with Compex to showcase how the new Ultimate range can help athletes train smarter, recover better and support long-term performance. Having used Compex for almost two decades, his experience demonstrates how EMS can form part of a broader, holistic approach to training, rather than being used as a shortcut to performance.
“The first time I used a Compex was after an injury in 2006, and since then it has been part of my routine in many different situations,” explained Kilian Jornet. “I’ve used it for recovery after training, rehabilitation after injuries, before competition and more recently as part of my strength training. What I find particularly valuable is its ability to help activate muscles and support neuromuscular function without adding unnecessary mechanical load.”
“The new Ultimate range is very exciting,” added Jornet. “It’s lighter, easier to travel with and much more adaptable to different needs. Through the app, it’s easier to personalize programs and integrate electrical muscle stimulation into recovery, strength training and performance preparation wherever I am.”
Arnaud Marie, General Manager of Compex, commented: “Some partnerships are built over time. Others feel inevitable. With Kilian, the connection has always been authentic because it is rooted in shared values. His commitment to sustainable performance, intelligent training and continuous improvement perfectly reflects the philosophy behind Compex.”
“Our relationship began many years ago, and what makes it unique is that Kilian has never viewed Compex as a shortcut, but as an integral part of a holistic approach to performance. As we launch the new Ultimate range, there could not be a more credible or inspiring athlete to help demonstrate how technology can support athletes in training, recovery and long-term progression.”
Together, Compex and Kilian continue a shared journey centred on helping athletes unlock their full potential through smarter training, better recovery and a deeper understanding of performance.
