RunThrough has announced the launch of the Kensington 10K, a new fully road-closed running event set to take place on Sunday 7 March 2027 in West London.
Starting and finishing beside Holland Park, just off Kensington High Street, the single-lap 10K will take participants through Kensington and Notting Hill, passing some of the area’s best-known streets and landmarks.
A traffic-free tour of West London
The route is designed to showcase Holland Park, the Design Museum, Leighton House, Notting Hill Gate, the area’s colourful terraces, Ladbroke Grove and Portobello Road. Organisers say every road on the course will be closed to traffic, giving runners an opportunity to experience these familiar streets from a different perspective.
The course will be officially measured and chip timed, making the event suitable for runners targeting an official 10K result as well as those taking on the distance for the first time.
Designed for runners of all abilities
RunThrough expects thousands of participants and spectators at the inaugural event. The company says the Kensington 10K is intended to welcome runners of different abilities, from first-time 10K entrants to those pursuing personal bests.
Jack Williams, CEO of RunThrough, described the opportunity to close Kensington and Notting Hill’s streets for a mass-participation race as a significant moment for the organiser and London’s running community. He said thousands of runners were already on the waiting list ahead of the launch.
The new race joins RunThrough’s portfolio of road-closed events, which includes the Fulham 10K, London Half & 10K, Newport 10K and Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon.
