XTEP Launches X-Run Training Camp and Debuts 160X 8-Series in Vietnam

XTEP has launched its X-Run Training Camp in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, alongside the local debut of its 160X 8-series carbon-plated racing shoes. The month-long initiative is being delivered with Sunrise Events Vietnam, organiser of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, and the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation.

Coaching and community development

Running from 11 October to 8 November 2026, the programme brings together approximately 50 pacers, 50 athletes and professional coaches. The sessions aim to help runners refine technique, build endurance and prepare for marathon goals, while XTEP’s broader X-RUN programme uses runner data and coaching insights to tailor support.

160X 8-series on show

The camp introduces the 160X 8.0 Ultra, 160X 8.0 Pro and 160X 8.0 to local runners. XTEP is positioning the line as competition-focused footwear within a wider range that also includes the 260X and 360X series for training and recreational use.

The company points to results from athletes associated with the 160X family, including Feng Peiyou’s 2:05:58 at the 2026 Tokyo Marathon and Tebello Ramakongoana’s third-place finish in 2:04:57 at the 2026 Sydney Marathon. Individual performance depends on many factors, and race results alone do not establish a shoe’s benefit for every runner.

Retail and event implications

For specialist running retailers, the initiative is an example of a footwear brand combining product launches with coached community experiences. XTEP also plans product trials, gear consultations and community activities at the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon expo on 4–5 December 2026.
