Dynafit signs George Foster

Keswick-based mountain runner George Foster has signed to the Dynafit international running team.

The 36-year-old athlete, originally from Yorkshire, is one of the UK’s top fell and mountain running specialists, hitting the headlines in 2020 when he ran the second-fastest Bob Graham Round in 13 hours 44 minutes. This narrowly eclipsed Billy Bland‘s long-standing 1982 record, and second only to Kilian Jornet‘s record of 12:52, set in 2018.

Foster mainly races abroad in the summer and has achieved considerable success including the Matterhorn Ultraks (2nd), Pikes Peak (6th), The Rut Skyrace (2nd) and Trail du Velan (1st) races. He’s also a force to be reckoned with on the British fell racing scene with results such as winning last year’s Grisedale Horseshoe race, and claiming the 2021 British Athletics Ultra Trail Championship title.

As far as 2022 race plans go, Foster says it’s all geared towards GB selection for the World Championships in November.

“I’m really looking forward to representing Dynafit on the international stage, especially becoming the first UK athlete to be in their international team,” said Foster. “It’s a really innovative and forward-thinking company with a great, mutually-realised attitude towards mountains and racing.”

Dynafit, part of the Bolzano-based Oberalp Group, is an athlete-driven brand well known for its ski-mountaineering innovations and, since 2010, its mountain running products. Mountain athletes such as Foster play a crucial role in product development, a vital ingredient in Dynafit’s development of technical mountain sports equipment.
