Kullamannen by UTMB race week underway ahead of strong international field

Kullamannen by UTMB® race week is underway in Båstad, Sweden, ahead of four races across Friday and Saturday and a strong international field.

The week began with the Legacy Run last Saturday in Mölle. The 16.5km social run raised funds for Skåne Stadsmission and brought the trail-running community together before the competitive programme.

Ultra 100M and Sprint Ultra 100K

Finland’s Juuso Simpanen, carrying a UTMB Index of 867, heads the men’s Ultra 100M field. He is joined by William Englund (823), Joel Engström Aloul (816) and Roman Ficek (814).

The women’s 100-mile race includes Anna Carlsson, Susanna Sjörgren, Anne Luksengaard Mjelva, Maria Saxvall and Natálie Kapcalová.

In the Sprint Ultra 100K, the leading men include Joseph Turner (861), Tobias Dahl Fenre (856) and Alejandro Mayor (851). Gemma Hillier Moses, with a UTMB Index of 778, lines up alongside Dominika Stelmach, Hanna Aho, Sofie Nelson Rask and Ellinor Ericsson in the women’s field.

Seventh Seal and North Shore

Jacob Adkin (934) leads the Seventh Seal field, which also features Oscar Claesson, Henri Aymonod, Bertie Houghton and Noah Brautigam. The women’s race includes Yngvild Kaspersen, Eleanor Davis, Kirsty Skye Dickson, Marte Emilsen and Alice Goodall.

Matt Knowles and Michelle Sigvardt are among the runners taking on the North Shore race, which will start after sunset for the first time.

A fifth finish and a distinctive challenge

Alexandre Boucheix returns for his fifth Kullamannen by UTMB Ultra 100M after finishing second in 2025. A fifth finish could earn him the event’s Diamond Ring. After completing his own race, he intends to accompany low-vision runner Nicolas Ronget and guide him to the finish.

Race-week schedule

Thursday’s programme includes a HOKA shakeout run at 4pm. On Friday, the expo and bib collection open at 10am, followed by a network meeting at 1pm, the Ultra 100M start at 6pm and the Sprint Ultra 100K start at 10pm.

The Seventh Seal starts at 11am on Saturday, with North Shore beginning at 5pm.
