2024 World United Virtual 5k open for entries

A brand-new event has sprinted into the 2024 global running calendar, World United 5k, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2024.

One million runners, across 70 countries, over one weekend, with one goal – to raise £2 million in support of global homelessness. Launched to celebrate 20 years of the Homeless World Cup Foundation charity, World United is no ordinary 5k – it’s a movement with purpose.

Free to take part, this global fundraising running event for the Homeless World Cup Foundation, unites runners worldwide through the universal language of football and their shared love of the sport. 223 football clubs, 72 countries, two days of running, with one mission at the core – to end global homelessness.

1.       Sign up for free today – join the World United Virtual Run. Select your distance, 1k, 3k or 5k.

2.       Pick your team – sign up as a group of friends, work colleagues or club supporters. Select the football club you support and wear your team’s shirt with pride. Not a football fan? Simply choose World United as your club and represent the Homeless World Cup when running.

3.       Run – any location, anywhere in the world, indoors, outside, it’s your choice – 27/28 April.

4.       Celebrate – share a photo on socials tagging #worldunited5k as evidence for your completed run to receive your 200 reward points to redeem online and 50% off merchandise. Not on socials? Email [email protected] with your bib number, full name and post-run selfie.

Scotland born, Stewart Lochrie, founder of the World United 5k, will be lacing up with his family, wearing his Rangers football shirt with pride on 27 April. All proceeds from the event, through merchandise sales, support the Homeless World Cup Foundation. We’re dedicated to eradicating homelessness through the universal language of football.”
