adidas has unveiled the Supernova Rise 2, the latest addition to its comfort-tuned Supernova franchise designed for the everyday run.
Built to provide even more comfort than its award-winning predecessor, the Supernova Rise 2 debuts a new upper, engineered with a refined sandwich mesh material for a more breathable and secure fit. The refined upper allows the shoe to be 4% lighter than the original silhouette, thanks to an updated engineered outer mesh and a streamlined heel pillow. The shoe also introduces a new and improved heel construction which incorporates a refined foam collar for enhanced support and comfort.
Underfoot, the shoe packs all the ingredients seen in its award-winning predecessor. The full-length Dreamstrike+ super-foam takes inspiration from Lightstrike Pro – the midsole material utilized across the record-breaking Adizero franchise – but with an updated formula to offer unparalleled comfort and cushioning. This is paired with a Support Rod system, embedded in the midsole to provide support as runners transition from heel to toe, as well as stability when needed. To provide grip underfoot, it features an ADIWEAR outsole, made of durable rubber which provides optimal traction out on the road.
JT Newcomb, Category Director, adidas Running Footwear, said: “When developing the Supernova Rise 2, we wanted to bring everything that our running community loved about its predecessor while adding new features that double down on the franchise’s comfort-driven goal. Thanks to the revamped upper, it is 4% lighter than its predecessor, providing the best daily running experience to all, mile after mile.”
The Supernova Rise 2 launches in an Orbit Grey colourway for men and Wonder Quartz colourway for women. Available from €150 / $140, the shoe is available in-store and online at adidas.com/running-shoes from 3rd December 2024. Additional colourways of the Supernova Rise 2 will be available to purchase in 2025.
