Chamonix is calling: 15 On athletes headed to the trail running event of the year

The UTMB World Series Finals bring the world’s best trail runners to the French Alps, where members of the On-Trail Team will compete in the five main races on schedule from August 28 to September 3.

The biggest trail-running week of the year is coming up in the French Alps. A total of 15 On athletes, eleven men, and four women, will compete among the more than 10,000 athletes expected across the eight different races – all with a common goal: to cross the finish line in Chamonix.

“Our team has been building huge momentum, taking podiums at some of the largest trail events around the world. On’s presence in the outdoor space continues to grow, not only with our athletes but also through the continued dedication to innovation and product development, campaigns, marketing efforts, and empowerment of the community. Now, we are approaching our biggest stage, the UTMB World Final,” said On Athlete Partnership Manager David Kilgore said.

The main event of the UTMB week (100M category) will have athletes competing over a grueling 171 kilometers and an elevation gain of +9963 meters, crossing three different countries, while the CCC (100K) takes participants on a 100km journey from Courmayeur to Chamonix. The OCC (50K UTMB World Series final) is the ultimate challenge for mid-distance ultra runners and leads from Orsières to Chamonix. The 145-km “Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie” (following the footprints of the Dukes of Savoie), or simply just “TDS”, links the Aosta Valley to the Savoie while the 40 km of the MCC takes participants from Martigny-Combe to Chamonix.

“On has seen exponential growth in the On-Trail team since its inception. Last year, we had four athletes represented at this grand stage, and this year we will have 15 taking the starting line. We are so proud of the efforts of our whole team, and we cannot wait to spend the week in Chamonix, the trail-running capital of the world.”
