Created to inspire runners to dive into new depths: ASICS launches new capsule collection designed by Lucy Charles-Barclay featuring footwear and apparel re-imagined in the light of her nickname, The Mermaid

Designed by ASICS athlete Lucy Charles-Barclay, the much-loved SUPERBLAST 2 shoes are re-imagined in the spirit of the triathlete’s nickname The Mermaid. With a matching head-to-toe look, the capsule inspires all runners to go from steady to supercharged and take their mind to new depths.

An ASICS athlete since 2022, Lucy attributes her success to her Never Give Up mentality. The record-breaking triathlete, nicknamed The Mermaid after her proficient swimming ability, has both triumphed and faced set-backs in her career. Before celebrating her astonishing comeback and win at last year’s Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Lucy battled through a severe injury by listening to her body to fully heal.

With iridescent fish scale stripes on the ASICS stripes and the midsole set against a pearly purple fastened by Never Give Up imprinted laces, the re-imagined SUPERBLAST 2 shoes are a nod to both Lucy’s nickname and her resilient spirit. The shoes are complimented by a matching head-to-toe look of women’s apparel featuring ASICS pinnacle performance items such as the METARUN shorts, top and gilet, all designed for superior comfort and ultimate freedom of movement.
