WithU launches free running workouts in partnership with parkrun

WithU, the world’s leading audio fitness app, has launched a range of free to access, expert running programmes in partnership with parkrun.

The world-class running workouts are the first iteration of WithU’s partnership as exclusive digital partner to parkrun and will be free to access to all parkrunners.

The content will feature a range of holistic programming that improves mobility, strength, and conditioning, as well as running. The programmes will allow people to set their time goals and smash them out of the park.

In a first for the WithU app, time/distance-based cues will allow users to be coached on both form and pace. This will see users continue to be motivated throughout their run, providing an intimate experience throughout its entirety.

Most importantly, the workouts have been designed for all ability levels – from beginner to even the most experienced 5km runners – and were curated by WithU’s former 400m Olympic sprinter, Tim Benjamin in conjunction with the parkrun team.

parkruns are free, weekly, community events hosted at more than 1000 locations in the UK. 5k events take place in parks and open spaces every weekend and provide a positive, welcoming, and inclusive experience where there is no time limit, and no one finishes last.

Since parkrun was founded in 2004, in the UK there have been more than 2.6million individual runners who have completed a parkrun event and over 41.7million total finishers – covering a distance of over 500 trips to the Moon.

WithU is the number one audio fitness app that provides immersive, audio-based workouts and personalised programmes led by world-renowned coaches and shares parkrun’s mission to support the health and wellbeing of the nation.

Tim Benjamin, Head of Product at WithU, said: “parkrun is an institution in the UK, and it’s a privilege to be able to provide its vast community with further opportunity to help them unlock their fitness goals.

“It was an important requirement for us to meet our shared values with parkrun by offering a programme that is both free and inclusive – we’re very excited to see the community benefit from these workouts.”

The WithU app is available to download now – for more information about parkrun go to the parkrun website www.parkrun.org.uk
